The genocide left Australia in ruins. “The aborigines have prevalence in personal violence, lack of care for children, increased death rate from non-natural causes, as well as high levels of alcohol and drug abuse (Stone).” This has negatively affected the children. The life span of an aboriginal adult is fifty six, which is significantly younger than the average male in other parts of Australia which is seventy six. An Aboriginal woman’s life span is sixty three, where the Australian average is eighty two. Not only did the genocide effect the adult but also the children, eighty percent of the kids are illiterate (Gale). Since they were kicked out of their home land the economy has significantly decreased because their main source of money has now been taken away from them. The environment is not a good place for anyone to be in, shortage of water, bad influences from their own people rebelling, and unsanitary living conditions. The Aborigines do not know anything different, the government is just now getting involved and trying to improve the living space they have to work with.
